After supporting Channel 4’s ‘Ugly house to lovely house’ series featuring George Clarke for several episodes, Stelrad has recently supplied more of its sector leading radiators for the latest edition – for a young couple with a growing family who bought an ‘ugly house’ in a nice area of Sheffield and set about spending a total budget of £120,000 on extending and renovating the property.
In this episode Stelrad supplied two of its smart Vita Plan horizontal radiators and an additional Planar Vertical K2 radiator that stands 2200mm high and 700mm wide.
“We are happy to work with this programme by supplying radiators specified by the architects that George Clarke works with for the programmes,” said Stelrad’s Head of Marketing Chris Harvey. “This was a particularly rewarding edition to feature in as the family lives just down the road from our Mexborough headquarters in a Sheffield suburb. The project was far from straightforward, not least because of the time frame that extended far beyond the planned programme, in the main due to the initial lockdown for Covid-19.”
The family had originally planned for the work to be completed before the arrival of their third child but because of delays due to the virus lockdown, the new baby was more than three months old by the time the project was completed! The new radiators feature in the newly extended, open plan kitchen dining area and in the newly formed bedroom in the loft conversion.
“The transformation was amazing from a very quirky looking three-bedroom semi into an impressive, very light and airy and open plan four-bedroom home with a new master bedroom and en-suite bathroom in the loft conversion,” says Chris. “The project went significantly over budget – around twenty five thousand pounds above the hoped for spend – but the result was staggering.”
