SINGLE PANEL RADIATOR FAQS
Is a Single Panel Radiator the Same as a Single Column Radiator?
A single panel radiator and a single column radiator are not the same thing. While a single panel radiator is a modern convection radiator that has one flat panel and fins, a single column radiator is an old-style radiator that has ridged sections of columns. The number of columns can vary from 1 to 4, but it does not have panels or fins. So, it’s important to distinguish between the two types of radiators when selecting the best option for your needs.
Is a Double Convector Radiator Better than a Single Radiator?
When it comes to choosing between a double convector radiator (also known as K2 or double panel radiators) and a single panel radiator, the decision depends on your heat requirements and available space. A double convector radiator has a second row of fins between the front and rear panels, providing more surface area to emit heat and more convection fins to distribute it.
However, it also takes up more room due to its thickness. If you prefer a more streamlined look or need a compact radiator, a single panel radiator may be the better option. In cases where a full-width double radiator would produce too much heat or a shorter one would look odd a single panel radiator is the better choice.
Fortunately, when you are browsing our standard radiators, you will see that there are plenty of models available, allowing you to choose the best option for your needs. By using the BTU heat loss calculator, you can determine which radiator is best suited to your room.
