How Do I Install a Wall Mounted Radiator?

Open Close

A wall mounted heater will be provided with brackets so it can easily be mounted up on the wall. Some of our taller wall mounted radiators will come with extra safety brackets too.

Always use heavy duty wall plugs and screws suitable for supporting the weight of the wall mounted heater.

Whether your pipework is coming from the floor or the wall, you can still opt for a wall mounted radiator. Of course, wall pipework will result in a tidier finish for your radiator. The source of the pipework – floor or wall – will determine which valves you require for your radiator.

There are three main types of valves:

  • Straight valves – these are generally used when your pipes are concealed under the floor and connect to your radiator at the bottom.
  • Angled valves – these are generally used when your pipes emerge from under the floor and connect to the side of your radiator.
  • Corner valves – these are generally used if your pipes emerge from the wall and connect at the bottom or sides of your radiator.

For your wall mounted radiator, you will also have a choice between manual valves and thermostatic valves. If you want the temperature controlled by the main thermostat only, chose a manual valve. If you want the temperature to be controlled by the main thermostat and the valve on the wall mounted heater, opt for a thermostatic valve.
