500 x 800 RADIATOR FAQs
What will be included with my radiator for installation purposes?
When your radiator arrives, you will need to install it yourself. If you have any issues with these don’t hesitate to contact us at Stelrad, but we also have an installation video on our YouTube channel to guide you through the set-up. The installation equipment you will get in your radiator pack will include brackets to attach the radiator to the wall, plastic inserts that seat the radiator precisely to the bracket and neat nickel-plated plugs and vents to provide a watertight joint. Make sure you have all of these!
How can I protect my 500 x 800 radiator from corrosion?
Avoiding corrosion is essential and to do this, you will need to get an annual radiator and boiler service, just to check everything is going okay. Whether you have a 500 x 800 radiator or any other size, you will want to avoid corrosion. Another thing you will need to do is flush your radiators to remove slush and debris. To make sure your radiator doesn’t encounter corrosion, you can find more helpful advice on our advice page.
How can I keep my 500 x 800 radiator clean?
It’s simple to keep your radiator clean and you will want to do this often to make sure it’s working at its best all the time. You can use antibacterial wipes or warm soapy water to clean your 500 x 800 radiator and some radiators will need to be cleaned more often than others, such as chrome radiators that will also need to be polished. Basic maintenance of radiators is also essential for the upkeep, and you will need to bleed your radiator at least once a year to drain out any water from the pipes too.
