600 x 800 RADIATOR FAQs
Are 600 x 800 easy to install on the wall?
Yes, this radiator size isn’t too heavy, making it simple to lift once you have installed the brackets onto your wall. All our radiators come with installation kits and instructions you can follow step-by-step. If you are still struggling to fit your radiator, you can give us a call at Stelrad or watch installation videos that can be found on our YouTube channel.
Are 600 x 800 radiators double panelled options better than single radiators?
Yes, it’s a fact that double panel radiators produce more heat as they have a bigger surface area meaning they also heat up faster. If you have larger rooms in your home, you will probably be better off with Stelrad 600 x 800 radiator double option. Our type 22 radiators have 2 panels and 2 fins, meaning they are powerful and efficient, more so than single radiators.
What should I do if a radiator starts leaking?
A leaking radiator can be stressful, and we don’t want anyone to have to deal with this. If your radiator starts leaking, it will probably be down to a faulty gland nut connection in the valve. Most people will notice this has happened as they will see water on the floor. Remove the rubber cover from the valve, remove the gland nut with a spanner, use PTFE tape to repack under the nut and this would help. You can use about 1-2 inches of tape and then put everything back in place. Add more tape if it’s still leaking.
How can I ensure my 600 x 800 radiator won’t suffer from corrosion?
You will want to avoid corrosion at all costs and keep your 600 x 800 radiator free from any rust that will completely ruin its exterior. To make sure your radiator doesn’t encounter corrosion, you will need to follow all our advice and keep it clean.
