Do cast iron radiators require special maintenance?

Cast iron radiators require similar care and maintenance to other radiators. You should regularly bleed them to help improve even heating and efficiency. Cast iron is prone to surface rust if the paint chips or moisture builds up, so you should wipe them dry if they get wet and touch up any chips or scratches with radiator paint. Make sure to regularly check for leaks and reseal as and when necessary, while also regularly wiping the radiator down to remove a build up of dust and grime.
