With a traditional design that has stood the test of time, our Stelrad Column Horizontal Radiators combine advanced modern heat engineering with the classic column design that has been much loved for centuries.

Available in over 25 sizes and finished in classic white, this column radiator is available in 2-column, 3-column, and 4-column models. Known for being high output radiators, they provide an impressive 2972 to 10143 BTU/hr depending on size and column number.

Column radiators have been a key feature in homes since the Victorian era. Victorian, Georgian, and Edward homes all valued the efficient design and heat-retention properties of this reliable radiator.

Today, utilizing the latest heat engineering technology, the Stelrad Column Horizontal Radiator is a striking feature in both period properties and modern homes embracing the beauty of the traditional design. This metal radiator is also a great choice for industrial décor and grand millennial interiors which is continuing to grow in popularity.

This range of traditional Victorian radiators comes in a staggering choice of over 25 sizes to help cater for your needs. Whether you want a small hallway radiator, medium bathroom radiator or large radiator for your living area, we’ve got you covered.

If you need help selecting the size of your radiator, use our Radiator Size Calculator. Simply enter the measurements of your available wall space for a list of suitable radiators for your room.

Plus, if you want to add a real contemporary twist to this traditional design, our Column Vertical Radiators take timeless style and tip it on its head, literally.

Stelrad Column Horizontal Radiators have a timeless white finish that pairs beautifully with white woodwork, coving and doors for a seamless, coherent interior design. White radiators are also perfect in bathrooms, utilities, and kitchens where white takes centre stage.

On the other hand, if your décor showcases the deep, dark tones featured in many period properties, an anthracite grey radiator may be better suited to your style. If so, then have a look at our Column Concept Radiator which is finished in dark anthracite – the decade’s hottest colour – this radiator has the same superb design and is also available as a vertical radiator in the Column Vertical Concept Range.

With even the smallest 300x444mm model offering a possible 1287 BTU/hr and the largest producing a mighty 10143 BTU/hr, these column horizontal radiators work hard whilst looking fabulous. It is important that you understand the BTU requirements of the room where the radiator will be located. Use our BTU Heat Loss Calculator to input your room’s size, construction, glazing, and other factors, to be provided with an estimated BTU requirement. You should then use this figure when assessing which radiator is best for your room.

Another factor to consider when purchasing a Column Horizontal Radiator is the number of columns. Each vertical section of the radiator is divided into either 2, 3, or 4-column. The more columns the more heat. Also bear in mind that a 4-column radiator is deeper than a 2-column radiator, and so on, so will protrude further from the wall. Also, a smaller 4-column radiator may produce more heat than a large 2-column radiator. Use the BTU with the measurements of your available space to determine which is best for you.

This premium style of radiator comes with a 5-year warranty to support its quality build and performance. You would not expect any less from Stelrad.

The Column Radiator can be wall-mounted or floor-mounted to suit your design and preference. Suitable brackets are available separately.

How do Stelrad Column Horizontal Radiators Work?

All column radiators work through a fairly simple process. When hooked up to the central heating, radiators have hot water flowing through them. This hot water flows through each column of the radiator heating the column and the surrounding air. This creates a convection current that spreads heat across the room.

How do you Fit a Stelrad Column Horizontal Radiator?

Column radiators are very straightforward to install. If you’re an experienced DIY-er, you may be able to do this yourself, however, we always recommend requesting the help or expertise of a professional plumber to efficiently fit your Column Horizontal Radiator.

Are Column Horizontal Radiators Less Efficient?

Stelrad column horizontal radiators are extremely efficient due to their design and the material used. Column radiators have a larger surface area that gives off more heat and also heats the air around it which effectively heats your whole room. And, due to the cast iron material, they keep producing heat for longer even when turned off!
