What’s the Difference Between a K1 Radiator and a K2 Radiator?
The physical difference between a K1 radiator and a K2 radiator is the layers of convector fins. The K1 style radiators have a single panel and a single convector whilst the K2 style radiators have a double panel and double convector. Due to the double convector and panels, the K2 generally generates a much greater level of heat than the K1.
What Are Convector Fins?
Convector fins are found on most radiator models, including Stelrad Classic Radiators. They are used to increase the contact surface of the radiator tubes to the surrounding air which results in a much greater level of exchange efficiency where the coolant is cooled down and fed back into the radiator. This cycle repeats to prolong your radiator’s life.
